About Us

Description of Work

The Physical Therapist will provide assessments and treatments per departmental and center policies/procedures for assigned caseload to include screenings, evaluations, consultations, planning and implementing Physical Therapy treatments and programs utilizing an interdisciplinary team process, or when a medical event has occurred requiring acute skills Physical Therapy services. The Physical Therapist will supervise Physical Therapy Assistants/Technicians to assist with service delivery to include delegating and teaching therapeutic techniques, monitoring treatment plans per licensure guidelines, provision of co-treatments with other disciplines, and changing goals/plans as evaluation indicates. The Physical Therapist will also assess in conjunction with Occupational Therapists seating systems, therapeutic equipment and supports to promote mobility, optimal functioning, and safety and falls prevention, and complete comprehensive evaluations/assessments based on person center planning, initial Physical Therapy plans (Objective Plans, Baselines, and Data Sheets), progress notes and discharge notes as specified by departmental/center policies and procedures and current licensure requirements. The Physical Therapist will also attend Orthopedic/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) appointments, orthotic and prosthetic clinic to present orthopedic/PMR problems of assigned residents to consultant as needed and follow-up on recommendations as specified by department/center policies/procedures.

SALARY RANGE: $69,027.00 - $113,620.00

This Position Is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statue Chapter 126 with the exception of Articles 6 and 7. State Human Resources Act (GS 126) This Position Is Designated as Mandatory and Must Report or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Work Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a prorated rate.

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

  • The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date)
  • The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
