It is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of all North Carolinians, providing human service needs for special populations including individuals who are deaf, blind, developmentally disabled, and mentally ill, and helping poor North Carolinians achieve economic independence.**Description of Work**The Physical Therapist will provide assessments and treatments per departmental and center policies/procedures for assigned caseload to include screenings, evaluations, consultations, planning and implementing Physical Therapy treatments and programs utilizing an interdisciplinary team process, or when a medical event has occurred requiring acute skills Physical Therapy services. Position will supervise Physical Therapy Assistants/Technicians to assist with service delivery to include delegating and teaching therapeutic techniques, monitoring treatment plans per licensure guidelines, provision of co-treatments with other disciplines, and changing goals/plans as evaluation indicates. The Physical Therapist will also assess in conjunction with Occupational Therapists seating systems, therapeutic equipment and supports to promote mobility, optimal functioning, and safety and falls prevention, and complete comprehensive evaluations/assessments based on person center planning, initial Physical Therapy plans (Objective Plans, Baselines, and Data Sheets), progress notes and discharge notes as specified by departmental/center policies and procedures and current licensure requirements. The Physical Therapist will also attend Orthopedic/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR) appointments, orthotic and prosthetic clinic to present orthopedic/PMR problems of assigned residents to consultant as needed and follow-up on recommendations as specified by department/center policies/procedures.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences****SALARY RANGE: $69,027.00 - $113,620.00***Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.**The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:** Considerable knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, methods, modality and their proper application.* Ability to work in a collaborative team process.* Ability to effectively document PT service delivery components/tasks.* Ability to work in a flexible day to day routine.* Ability to communicate with a variety of professional and home staff regarding PT services.**This Position Is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statue Chapter 126 with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.****This Position Is Designated as Mandatory and *Must* Report or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.**## **Work Hours: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday**## **\*\*Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus\*\***To qualify for the Sign-on Bonus, *a* newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible.
