Job summary

Fruitvale Healthcare Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Oakland, CA to administer treatments and support residents’ mobility under an established care plan. You will perform tests, help with home assessments when needed, and maintain confidential records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• 1 year clinical experience preferred; new graduates welcomed.
• Current California PTA license.

Responsibilities

• Administers treatment to patients within scope of practice and plan of care.
• Administers tests and measurements for strength, ROM, and mobility.
• Provides direct clinical treatment and maintains patient records.
• May participate in home assessments to support safe discharge.
• Completes forms and documents per policy and regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Duties and Responsibilities within scope of practice and federal guidelines:

• Administers treatment to patients with problems related to neuromuscular and musculoskeletal systems.
• Administers tests and measurements for muscle strength, coordination, range of motion, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency.
• Provides direct clinical treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient records.
• May participate with home assessments, simulated or actual as appropriate, to ensure discharge of residents to a safe environment along with PT/OT as needed.
• Completes required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• One (1) year of clinical experience preferred. New graduates welcomed.
• Current license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant issued by the state of California.
