Job summary

AVIR at La Hacienda in Eagle Pass, TX seeks a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house subacute rehabilitation team on a per diem basis. You will work under a licensed Physical Therapist, implement individualized treatment plans, assist with mobility and functional tasks, and educate patients and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Current Texas PTA license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Experience in subacute rehab preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled PTA treatments under a supervising Physical Therapist.
• Implement treatment plans to improve mobility, strength, and balance.
• Assist with exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional tasks.
• Monitor patient progress and document sessions accurately.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises and home programs.
• Collaborate with rehabilitation, nursing, and care teams.
• Maintain compliance with standards and regulations.

Join Our In-House Subacute Rehabilitation Team!

AVIR at La Hacienda is an in-house subacute rehabilitation facility seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a per diem basis.

Position Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.


• Implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve patients’ mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence.


• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, mobility activities, and functional tasks.


• Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.


• Document treatment sessions, patient progress, and clinical observations accurately and in a timely manner.


• Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility techniques, safety, and home recommendations.


• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation, nursing, and care teams to support patient-centered outcomes.


• Maintain compliance with professional, facility, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in good standing.


• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.


• Strong communication, organizational, and clinical skills.


• Experience in skilled nursing or subacute rehabilitation is preferred.


• New graduates with appropriate licensure are encouraged to apply.


• Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
