Sunny Days of California, Inc. seeks a licensed Pediatric Physical Therapist for home-based Early Intervention services, serving birth to three with developmental needs.

You will assess, treat and coach families using the Parent Coaching Model, delivering therapy in homes, daycare centers or community settings to help children reach developmental goals. Qualifications

• California PT license (DPT) required.
• Pediatric/early intervention experience preferred.
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and PT services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow IFSP and work with families to develop strategies to reach developmental goals.
• Utilize family-centered coaching to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and ensure progress is generalized.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (bi-annual).
• Maintain confidentiality of information per HIPAA and state/federal regulations.

Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Home-based service delivery experience preferred
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Excellent written & oral communication skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
