Job summary

Sunny Days Early Childhood Developmental Services Inc. seeks licensed physical therapists to provide early intervention services to infants and toddlers in home and community settings in California.

Responsibilities include conducting developmental assessments, developing IFSP-based treatment, coaching families, and writing progress reports with HIPAA-compliant confidentiality. California DPT license and pediatric EI experience preferred; Spanish bilingual is a plus.

Qualifications

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license required.
• Pediatric experience in Early Intervention preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and provide physical therapy services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow each child’s IFSP and partner with families to set developmental goals.
• Use family-centered coaching to build caregiver confidence and generalize progress.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, community).
• Perform re-assessments and write progress reports (bi-annual typically).
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal regulations.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
