Job summary

Sunny Days California is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to join our home-based Early Intervention team serving infants, toddlers and families across California. You'll provide pediatric physical therapy within natural environments, coordinate with families, and deliver IFSP-driven interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct developmental assessments and provide physical therapy services using the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon).
  • Follow each child’s IFSP and collaborate with families to achieve developmental goals.
  • Use family-centered parent coaching to build caregiver confidence and skills, ensuring progress generalization.

Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
  • Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
  • Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
  • Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
  • Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)
Requirements
  • California Physical Therapy (DPT) license
  • Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
  • Home-based service delivery experience preferred
  • Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
