Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking an experienced Senior Physical Platform Engineer to own the lifecycle management of MacOS workstations and mobile devices. You will enroll devices, manage software/configuration, and ensure policy compliance across environments.

You will apply JAMF and MEM/Intune expertise to support secure access, conditional access and enterprise mobility while partnering with the Digital Employee Experience team.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Requires 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Requires 5+ years hands-on JAMF experience managing MacOS workstations.
• Requires 5+ years hands-on administration with Microsoft MEM/Intune for mobile devices and conditional access.
• Requires 5+ years troubleshooting system and network resources for root cause.
• Knowledge of MAC OSX, VMWare Workstation, VMWare vSphere, Bomgar, MBAM, AppV, ThinApp, and related technologies.
• Proficient in authentication mechanisms and service protocols (LDAP, Kerberos, SIP, SMTP).
• Proficient with client services and protocols (VPN, RDP, SMB, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL).

Responsibilities

Your Role

The Digital Employee Experience team responsible for all engineering all aspects of client devices. The Physical Platform Engineer, Senior will report to the Sr Manager of productivity engineering. In this role you will manage all aspects of the MacOS workstations and mobile devices. This includes enrolling new devices, software management and configuration management through the entire lifecycle of the devices.

Your Knowledge and Experience

• Requires a bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience
• Requires 5+ years hands-on working with JAMF managing MacOS workstations
• Requires 5+ years hands-on administration experience with Microsoft MEM/Intune supporting mobile devices MDM and conditional access policies
• Requires 5+ years experience troubleshooting system and network resources for root cause and problem identification
• Knowledge of MAC OSX, VMWare Workstation, VMWare vSphere, Bomgar, MBAM, AppV, ThinApp, among other related and supportive technologies
• Proficient knowledge of authentication mechanisms, and common service protocols such as LDAP, Kerberos, SIP, SMTP, and others
• Proficiency and demonstrated knowledge of client services and common service protocols such as VPN, RDP, SMB, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSL and others

Hybrid

This role requires employees to be in - office based on our hybrid workplace model, balancing purposeful in - person collaboration with flexibility. For most teams, this means coming into the office two days each week.

Employees living more than 50 miles from an office location will work with their manager to determine in-office time based on business need.
