Job summary

Chestnut Health in Winchester, IL invites a compassionate Physician Assistant to join our Physiatry team. New graduates are encouraged to apply and you will collaborate with therapists and nurses to create and implement rehab plans focused on restoring function and independence.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor progress, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings while documenting carefully in EMR. A PA license in Illinois is preferred and relevant certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Active Physician Assistant license in Illinois preferred
• Current Controlled Substance License preferred (required upon start date)
• Current DEA License preferred (required upon start date)
• NCCPA Certificate preferred
• Interest in working in Physiatry/Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation preferred
• Orthopedic Experience (nice to have)
• Physiatry Experience (nice to have)
• Skilled Nursing Experience (nice to have)
• Certified Physician Assistant preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans for patients with diverse rehabilitation needs.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations, to determine appropriate rehabilitation goals and interventions.
• Monitor patient progress closely and adjust treatment plans as necessary to optimize functional outcomes and promote independence.
• Participate actively in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and educational activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of initial evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in electronic medical records systems.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding the rehabilitation process, expected outcomes, and post-discharge care.
