Job summary

ST. CHARLES HEALTH SYSTEM in Bend, Oregon, is seeking a Medical Assistant to manage daily patient flow for assigned physicians. The MA will perform triage to collect information for health assessments and anticipate physician needs, supporting a team-based clinical environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited MA program. Licensure/certification in MA plus BLS is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions and procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical practice management information systems.
• Basic knowledge of physician office documentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for physician assessment.
• Records and maintains patient data in the medical chart.
• Assists physician with phone requests from patients and other medical professionals.
• Performs various physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical patient procedures (not IV meds).
• Maintains equipment and supply inventory levels.
