Job summary

OpenLight Photonics Inc. is seeking a test engineer to join the on-site team in Santa Clara, CA. You will design, implement, and execute test solutions for silicon photonics devices and PICs, focusing on wafer-level testing with automated probers.

You’ll leverage Python for test automation and work with Advantest 93k hardware, PCBAs, probe cards, and custom test hardware to optimize throughput and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong background in optical and electrical device testing.
• Programming experience in Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom test hardware for wafer-level testing on automated wafer probers.
• Review and recommend potential equipment suppliers and write project proposals.
• Specify to suppliers the designs of custom PCBAs and probe cards.
• Specify test algorithms to be implemented in test automation code and review results.
• Calibrate optical and RF probe cards and verify test accuracy.
• Optimize test throughput and accuracy.
• Operate test stations for prototype runs and hand off production testing to OSAT partners.
