Job summary

OpenLight is seeking a test engineer to advance silicon photonics testing from wafer-level to production. You will design and implement test hardware and software, work with suppliers on PCBAs and probe cards, and optimize test throughput while collaborating with a fast-paced team in Santa Clara and San Jose.

Ideal candidates have hands-on lab experience, strong programming skills in Python (plus C++/Java), and a passion for innovative photonics technology.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Physics or Electrical Engineering is required.
• Strong programming experience in Python and familiarity with C++/Java for test automation.
• Experience with wafer-level testing and lab hardware design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop custom test hardware for wafer-level testing on automated wafer probers.
• Review and specify designs of PCBAs and probe cards with suppliers.
• Write test algorithms and review results for accuracy and throughput.
• Operate test stations for prototype runs and hand off production testing to OSAT partners.
• Coordinate test plans and communicate results to internal/external customers.
