Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a process engineer to join The Photo Team in Austin. You will work alongside a skilled group to establish and maintain world-class processes and equipment, implementing yield enhancements as a competitive advantage and solving complex production challenges.

You will monitor wafer fabrication, qualify new tools, schedule process qualifications, analyze data with software, adjust parameters, run line changes, and help revise SOPs while supporting 24x7

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, or Computer Science (3.0 GPA or better for new grads).
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
• Understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management.
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Structured Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc.).
• Experience with Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.).
• Ability to wear clean room suit and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and ability to lift < 35 lbs as well as work in tight fitting, FAB environment and sit at a computer terminal, uses a computer for extended periods of time.
• Vision – May be exposed to yellow lights, blinking lights and ability to discern audible alarms.
• Potential to work with materials which contain hazardous chemicals.
• Ability to support and/or work shift duties in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the wafer fabrication process by responding to in-line issues and dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualifying wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinating the scheduling of process qualifications and equipment down time with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
• Using software to analyze data, identify trends to make decisions about processing product.
• Making adjustments when process parameters are exceeded and monitors process parameters when tools return from maintenance.
• Executing in line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicating technical information within the department through presentations.
• Continuously revising Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Developing improved processes to increase capability.
