Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a process engineer to join the Photo Team. You will help establish and maintain world-class processes and implement yield enhancements while solving complex problems and implementing solutions.

The role involves monitoring fabrication, qualifying new tools, and coordinating qualifications and downtime. Requires a technical degree with strong data analysis skills, proficiency in Python/VBA, and knowledge of Lean/6S.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or Computer Science (3.0 GPA or better for new grads).
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
• Understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management.
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Strong problem-solving skills using 8D or similar methodologies.
• Experience with data analysis software such as Spotfire, JMP, or Matlab.
• Ability to work in a clean room environment and lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication process and respond to inline issues.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate process qualifications and equipment downtime.
• Use software to analyze data and identify trends for decisions.
• Adjust processes when parameters are exceeded and monitor tools post-maintenance.
• Execute in-line process or equipment changes (CPM).
• Communicate technical information within the department via presentations.
• Revise and improve SOPs.
• Develop improved processes to increase capability.
