Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a process engineer to join the Photo Team. You will help establish and maintain world‑class process/equipment and implement yield enhancements as a competitive advantage while identifying complex problems and delivering solutions.

Responsibilities include monitoring wafer fabrication, qualifying new tools, coordinating process qualifications, analyzing data with software, making adjustments, and revising SOPs.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or Computer Science (3.0 GPA or better for new grads).
• Experience scripting in Python, VBA, or equivalent language.
• Understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management.
• Understanding of Lean, TPS, or 5S principles.
• Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step, etc.).
• Experience with Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab, etc.).
• Ability to work in a clean room environment and shift duties in a 24x7 manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the wafer fabrication process by responding to in-line issues and dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualifying wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinating the scheduling of process qualifications and equipment downtime with manufacturing or equipment engineering.
• Using software to analyze data, identify trends, and make processing decisions.
• Making adjustments when process parameters are exceeded and monitoring parameters after maintenance.
• Executing in-line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicating technical information within the department through presentations.
• Continuously revising SOPs and developing improved processes to increase capability.
