Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a Process Engineer to join the Photo Team. You will monitor wafer fabrication processes, qualify new tools, and drive yield enhancement through data-driven decisions.

You’ll coordinate qualifications, manage down time, and implement process changes while maintaining SOPs and reporting findings to the team. The ideal candidate holds a BS/MS in engineering, has scripting experience (Python/VBA), and can work in a 24x7 FAB environment with PPE.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering or related field with GPA 3.0+ for new grads.
• Experience scripting in Python or VBA.
• Understanding of statistical methods and Change Point Management.
• Understanding Lean, TPS or 5S principles.
• Structure Problem Solving (8D, 7-step).
• Experience with Software Data Analysis software (Spotfire, JMP, Matlab).
• Ability to wear clean room suit and PPE.
• Willingness to support 24x7 shifts including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer fabrication process and respond to inline issues; dispositions of production wafers.
• Qualify wafer fabrication processes on new tools.
• Coordinate scheduling of process qualifications and equipment down time.
• Use software to analyze data, identify trends and make processing decisions.
• Make adjustments when parameters are exceeded; monitor tools after maintenance.
• Execute in-line changes (CPM) to the process or equipment.
• Communicate technical information within the department via presentations.
• Continuously revise SOPs.
• Develop improved processes to increase capability.
