Job summary

Aegis Sciences Corporation is seeking a part-time Specimen Collector - Phlebotomy to collect biological specimens at client sites in Mississippi. The role involves maintaining collection integrity, handling records for reporting, verifying initial insurance for billing, and packing specimens for shipment.

Schedule includes 26 hours per week with specific Monday-Thursday blocks. The candidate should have phlebotomy training or 3+ years of blood collection experience, and meet state phlebotomy

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or 3+ years in blood collection.
• Must meet state requirements for phlebotomy certification where required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with confidentiality.
• Experience in the medical field preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Foster open communication between client and Aegis Sales Management.
• Follow SOPs for sample collection.
• Maintain chain of custody and sample integrity (volume, labeling, sealing).
• Ensure complete and accurate sample requisitions.
• Utilize ELR FLUID for sample submissions.
• Answer questions about Aegis policies.
• Complete and maintain compliance training (HIPAA, etc.).
• Follow safety requirements including PPE usage.
• Order supplies and manage budget with RSM/ASM as required.
• Verify insurance information via Passport as needed.
• Request/collect payments from patients when applicable.
• Maintain communication with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager.
• Support ASM/RSM in marketing and sales objectives for sample collection.
• Maintain knowledge of Aegis testing services.
• Participate in process improvements and team goals.
