Job summary

Aegis Sciences Corporation is seeking a part-time Service Worker in Jackson, MS. Schedule includes Monday/Wednesday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM and 1:00 PM–5:00 PM, plus Tuesday/Thursday 12:00 PM–5:00 PM, up to 26 hours per week.

Responsibilities include facilitating sample collection, maintaining chain-of-custody integrity, handling requisitions via ELR FLUID, and answering client inquiries. Requires phlebotomy training or 3 years of blood collection, high school diploma, and strong confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program or a minimum of three (3) years of blood collection experience.
• Must meet state requirements for phlebotomy certification (where required).
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a focus on quality and extreme confidentiality.
• Excellent customer service skills are essential to success in this role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality, attention to detail.
• Basic computer knowledge including, but not limited to: email, basic website navigation, user credentials, USB ports, typing at least 40 words per minute, Windows OS familiarity.
• Preferred experience with tablets and use of a stylus.
• Knowledge of saving or deleting files and folders; understanding security measures.

Responsibilities

• Foster open communication between the client and Aegis Sales Management.
• Follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample collection.
• Ensure the integrity of each Chain of Custody and sample (sufficient sample volume; properly labeled and sealed).
• Ensure sample requisitions are complete and information is correct.
• Utilize Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) “FLUID” for sample submissions.
• Answer questions from clients/patients regarding Aegis policies.
• Complete and maintain required compliance training (HIPAA, etc.).
• Comply with safety requirements including PPE.
• Order supplies and manage budget with RSM and ASM as required.
• Verify insurance information through Passport as needed.
• Request/collect payments from patients (where applicable).
• Maintain regular communication with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager.
• Support ASM/RSM in marketing and sales objectives for sample collection.
• Maintain knowledge of Aegis testing services.
• Participate in process improvements and team efforts.
