Job summary

Duke University Health System Clinical Laboratories in Durham seeks a Clinical Technician II in Outpatient Phlebotomy at the Offsite Labs Lakewood location. Monday - Friday, an 8-hour shift between 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

You will perform procedures, specimen handling, phlebotomy, data entry, and coordinate with staff while maintaining safety, quality control, and patient communication. Eligible for a $2,500 commitment bonus for a 1-year commitment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; phlebotomy training recommended for assignment to phlebotomy.
• Must have at least 2 years experience as a Clinical Tech I or Phlebotomy certification with competency in job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized procedures.
• Procure, process, and evaluate patient specimens for diagnosis and treatment.
• Phlebotomy, specimen collection, labeling, and accessioning.
• Maintain accurate records and enter orders; communicate professionally with patients and staff.
• Adhere to quality control, safety, and infection control standards.
• Assist with office tasks and maintain supplies and equipment.
