Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to collect and process blood specimens in a 8:30am–5:00pm, onsite setting. You will ensure proper patient identification, specimen labeling and transport while maintaining HIPAA compliance and high customer service standards.

The role requires 1–2 years of phlebotomy experience and a High School diploma, with preference for pediatric phlebotomy experience and Phlebotomy Technician certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Experience in phlebotomy 1-2 years required; pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician certification preferred (generic).
• Demonstrates proficiency in proper collection methods and processing of all specimens with correct tube selection and labeling.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process blood specimens from patients for laboratory testing.
• Obtain quality blood samples using appropriate phlebotomy techniques for all age groups.
• Ensure accurate patient identification, labeling, processing and transportation of specimens.
• Provide training/education to new staff and students as assigned.
