Job summary

Aegis Sciences Corporation is seeking a Specimen Collector to collect biological specimens at client sites, ensure chain of custody integrity, and prepare samples for shipment. Responsibilities include maintaining records for reporting and obtaining initial insurance verification for billing.

The role requires strong customer service, confidentiality, and basic computer skills, with HIPAA/PPE training. Schedule: Mon–Fri 9:00–17:00, up to 37.5 hours/week; travel to client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training program or 3 years blood collection experience.
• Must meet state phlebotomy certification requirements where required.
• Ability to work fast-paced while maintaining confidentiality.
• Medical field experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking ability.
• Basic computer skills: email, web navigation, credentials management.
• Typing speed of at least 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens at client sites and ensure proper labeling and handling.
• Maintain the integrity of each chain of custody and samples.
• Obtain insurance verification for billing purposes.
• Package specimens for shipment according to SOPs.
• Answer questions about Aegis policies from clients or patients.
• Maintain required compliance training (HIPAA, PPE).
• Communicate with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager.
• Assist with process improvements and cross-functional teamwork.
