Job summary

Centers Laboratory of New Jersey is seeking Phlebotomists to work weekdays 8 AM - 7 PM at our Passaic, NJ laboratory. The ideal candidate has 2 years of experience and strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.

Reports to the Phlebotomy Supervisor and may work across multiple locations. Responsibilities include patient preparation, specimen collection, labeling, and transport of samples, with strict adherence to safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Technician certificate preferred or hospital/major lab training program.
• 2 years proven experience as a phlebotomist.
• Understanding of standard blood drawing practices and procedures.
• Good interpersonal skills and communication.
• Able to work nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients and prepare them for blood draws.
• Assemble supplies and equipment required for specimen collection.
• Draw blood using proper equipment and techniques.
• Label test tubes and ensure proper storage and transport.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and maintain a clean work area.
• Adhere to safety standards and dispose of sharps and waste properly.
