Job summary

Centers Laboratory of New Jersey is actively seeking Phlebotomists to work part-time at our Sussex County, NJ locations. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of phlebotomy experience and excellent interpersonal skills.

Reports to the Phlebotomy Supervisor and will work in multiple locations across the county. The role involves interviewing and preparing patients for blood draws, following strict safety procedures, labeling specimens, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy Technician certificate preferred.
• Without certificate must have completed a hospital or major lab training program.
• 2 years proven experience as a phlebotomist.
• Understanding of standard blood drawing practices and procedures.
• Valid State driver’s license with a good driving record and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Identify patients accurately using wristbands or documents.
• Assemble supplies and equipment for specimen collection.
• Draw blood using proper equipment and techniques.
• Label test tubes correctly and ensure proper test tube order of draw.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow safety standards.
• Monitor patient for reactions and educate on aftercare.
