Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids seeks a Phlebotomy Technician to join our clinical team. You will perform blood draws and skin tests, identify samples and patients accurately, and use the EPIC system to document results while delivering compassionate, patient-focused service.

Responsibilities include education of new staff, maintaining a clean lab, handling supplies, and supporting off-site collections as needed. Weekend/holiday shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy training or medical assisting preferred.
• Certification options preferred: ASCP PBT, AMT RPT, NHA CPT.

Responsabilités

• Communicate accurate information at handoffs and with patients and families.
• Prioritize workload for timely collection of samples.
• Identify patients and samples during pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical phases.
• Perform specimen collection, including phlebotomy and skin tests.
• Use EPIC to access and enter information.
• Provide outstanding customer service to patients and colleagues.
• Educate and train new staff and students.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness, stocking and upkeep.
• Fulfill clinic supply orders and transfer to receiving dock.
• Seek process improvements and participate in off-site collections as required.
