Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED; some healthcare coursework is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proficient in procuring blood samples via venous and capillary techniques across age groups.
• Uses Laboratory Information System for activating, ordering, and reporting tests.
• Educates patients on proper specimen collection and handling.
• Reviews provider orders and maintains accuracy in test requests; contacts offices when needed.
• Prepares and processes specimens, including centrifuging, storage, and temperature control.
• Readsies specimens for transfer to reference labs and coordinates STAT transfers.
• Performs waived and moderately complex CLIA testing under supervision.
• Maintains temperature logs, quality controls, and daily/weekly/monthly maintenance records.
• Works as part of a fast-paced team delivering patient-centered care.
