Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Phlebotomist to perform venipunctures, heel and finger sticks, and assist with non-blood specimen collection while adhering to AHN policies. You will collect and process patient specimens within the lab schedule, maintain supplies and cleanliness, and perform basic lab support tasks such as order entry and specimen receiving.

Mentoring students may be part of duties. The role includes a $1,500 sign-on bonus and may require a valid driver’s license depending on

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Phlebotomy training.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies and procedures and within expected timeframes both on and off site as required.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
• Performs laboratory support duties (e.g., order entry, registration, specimen receiving, etc.) to ensure efficient operations.
• May mentor students in phlebotomy utilizing AHN policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
