Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy using standard techniques for venipunctures, heel sticks and finger sticks. You will provide instruction and/or assistance with the collection of non-blood specimens.

A $1,500 sign-on bonus is available. Responsibilities include collecting and processing patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies, maintaining a clean work area, and performing lab support duties such as order entry and registration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training required.
• Preferred: six months' phlebotomy experience.
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens on site and off site as required.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the work area and adequate supplies for efficient laboratory operations.
• Performs laboratory support duties (order entry, registration, specimen receiving, etc.).
• May mentor students in phlebotomy utilizing AHN policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.
