Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a phlebotomist to collect specimens by venipuncture, heel and finger sticks, and assist with non-blood specimen collection. The role requires adherence to lab policies and on-time specimen handling.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean work area, handling basic lab support tasks, and mentoring students as needed. A high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy training are required, with six months of phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collects and processes patient specimens per policies and timelines (on/off site).
• Maintains cleanliness of the work area and supplies for efficient operations.
• Performs laboratory support duties (order entry, registration, specimen receiving).
• May mentor students in phlebotomy per AHN policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
