Job summary

Advocate Health Care is seeking a Phlebotomist II to collect blood samples, label specimens accurately, and support the Floyd Medical Center lab in Georgia. The role requires phlebotomy training and 1 year of experience, with ASCP or equivalent licensure preferred.

Part-time Saturday and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, 24 hours per week, with benefits eligibility. The department emphasizes quality control and timely processing within established turnaround times.

Qualifications

• PBT (ASCP) or equivalent licensure required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
• At least one year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Ability to follow state and OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples by venipuncture from patients of any age.
• Perform capillary puncture as needed and ensure proper specimen labeling.
• Accurately log collection times into the lab computer system.
• Establish positive patient identification and handle specimens promptly.
• Maintain clean, stocked phlebotomy area and follow QA standards.
• Follow procedures to minimize contamination and errors in processing.
