Job summary

Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center is hiring a Part-time Phlebotomist II in the Lab Department. The role involves drawing blood, collecting specimens, and ensuring proper paperwork and labeling for processing.

The incumbent will perform venipuncture, capillary collections, and blood cultures with strict accuracy and QA standards, while maintaining a clean, stocked phlebotomy area and complying with regulations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a formal training program in Phlebotomy.
• Completion of departmental clinical evaluation checklist.

Responsibilities

• Consistently obtains high quality specimens by venipuncture.
• Performs special procedures as needed.
• Collects blood cultures with contamination rate below established goal.
• Establishes positive patient identification.
• Follows all Continuous Quality Improvement standards.
• Accurately logs collection and received times into lab computer system.
