Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have phlebotomy training or 6 months phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting.
• Excellent patient-care and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process patient blood via venipuncture or capillary puncture promptly and accurately.
• Identify patient correctly and record information on the specimen.
• Deliver specimens to the proper department in a timely manner.
• Provide phone support to patient care areas in a courteous manner.
• Maintain competency with hospital information systems and assist with training new staff.
