Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens on all age populations with minimal patient impact.
• Process and allocate laboratory specimens and orders from all sources.
• Verify patient and specimen identification and appropriateness of specimens and accompanying orders.
• Organize laboratory workflow and prioritize processing and distribution of specimens.
• Utilize equipment, instruments and computer systems to test, accession, label and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory sections within acceptable time frames.
• Perform procedures within established testing methods and responsibilities.
• Document routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment and troubleshoot as needed.
• Train new employees in theoretical and operational aspects of the position and serve as a resource for less experienced coworkers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
