Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a PRN phlebotomist to collect blood specimens and assist with patient registration and data entry in a busy lab environment. You will identify patients, label specimens accurately, and ensure specimen integrity while following safety protocols.

The role requires proficiency in HIS/LIS, ability to work independently, and flexibility to travel to client sites or facilities as needed. Experience in healthcare support roles is helpful, and certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; phlebotomy course or experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification or course preferred.
• Experience in healthcare roles (paramedic/EMT/CNA/MA) is helpful.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently perform phlebotomy to obtain blood specimens.
• Register patients and handle data entry in HIS/LIS as needed.
• Label specimens with patient identifiers accurately and maintain specimen integrity.
• Collect other samples (throat swabs, urine, etc.) as required.
• Support with specimen transport, report generation, and routine QC.
