Job summary

Summit Health is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician to join our satellite lab team. You will perform blood collection, process specimens, and support various tests across locations, following strict aseptic practices and SOPs.

The role requires at least two years of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma, and familiarity with HIPAA guidelines. Travel to satellite sites may be required to meet patient care needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience required and drug screen collection preferred.
• Phlebotomy Technician Certification through the National Health Career Association (NHA) preferred; may be required for specific locations.
• Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and medical terminology required.
• Ability to multitask and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Uses aseptic technique to draw blood cultures.
• Processes Stat specimens per SOP.
• Prepares containers with appropriate preservatives for home collection (Urine & Stool).
• Collects COC Urine Drug Screen and H. pylori Breath test as required.
• Trains new staff on lab policies and procedures.
• Adapts to emergency staffing needs and travel to satellite locations as needed.
