Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the Patient Services Center and in-office patient services. The role involves professional interaction with clients and patients, performing venipuncture and specimen collection, and processing duties following established procedures.

You will maintain accurate records, assist with data entry, and ensure specimens are prepared and transported per protocol while upholding safety and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Phlebotomist Certification preferred (Required in Louisiana).
• At least 1 year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers professionally and courteously.
• Ensures all field phlebotomy and PSC specimens are collected accurately and on time.
• Collects specimens following established procedures and explains venipuncture process clearly to patients.
• Disposes of blood and biohazard materials per laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions accurately in PathConnect and other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient, specimen, insurance, or billing information with high accuracy.
• Matches requisition forms to tubes and processes specimens per protocol.
• Packages specimens for transport and stores them per required temperature.
