Job summary

PathGroup is seeking a Patient Services Technician to support the PSC or in-office PST under the area supervisor, performing daily patient service activities accurately and on time.

The person in this position interacts with the client, patients, and other PathGroup personnel in a professional and courteous manner and performs with confidence, both the forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers appropriately and treats all customers courteously.
• Collects specimens accurately and on time.
• Explains venipuncture and specimen collection procedures clearly.
• Disposes of biohazard materials per laws and policies.
• Completes requisitions in PathConnect or other PathGroup systems.
• Enters patient and billing information with high accuracy.
• Maintains daily PSC/IOPST logs and records.
• Performs basic clerical duties and electronic data entry.
• Adheres to grooming, lab coat policies, and safety guidelines.
• Maintains patient flow and communicates issues to supervisor.
