Job summary

IVI RMA North America is seeking a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant at our San Diego, CA location. This role offers hands-on patient interaction in a women’s health and reproductive medicine environment, with daytime hours and opportunities to grow clinically.

You will assist physicians, perform phlebotomy, document ultrasound-related notes, and help cover front desk as needed. Training is provided and certification/licensing requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• Phlebotomy CPT-1 license required.
• Experience as Medical Assistant in a physician practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with clinical procedures.
• Follow proper protocols for all procedures.
• Practice phlebotomy.
• Document ultrasound measurements and provider comments.
• Chaperone ultrasounds and use stim templates.
• Clean exam rooms and equipment per protocol.
• Set up and stock examination and procedure rooms.
• Maintain clinical supplies inventory.
• Specimen collection and processing for labs.
• Enter results and email to provider team.
• Provide patient information and comfort before, during, and after procedures.
• Cover front desk when needed.

Our San Diego, CA location is seeking a Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant who enjoys hands‑on patient interaction and wants to grow in women’s health and reproductive medicine. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their healthcare career who is looking to build clinical experience in a supportive and highly specialized environment.

We offer stable daytime hours Monday through Friday 7:30 am – 3:30 pm with occasional weekends.

Our supportive team is ready to offer training.

The Clinical Assistant will promote and restore patients’ health by assisting in the nursing process and supporting physicians and other multidisciplinary team members with hands‑on patient care. You will help to create a positive experience for our patients and ensure that patients receive high-quality service by assisting clinical team with patient care.

Essential Functions And Accountabilities

• Assist Physicians with clinical procedures
• Follow proper protocols for all procedures
• Practice phlebotomy
• Accurately document ultrasound measurements, provider comments and use appropriate stim templates while chaperoning ultrasounds.
• Clean exam rooms and equipment per protocol.
• Set up and stock examination and procedure rooms.
• Maintain clinical supplies inventory.
• Specimen collection, processing for in-house and outside laboratories.
• Manage Lanfax for outside labs, reports, results. Enter results and email to provider team for review.
• Provide patients with information regarding upcoming procedures and reassurance/comfort before, during and after procedures.
• Help cover the front desk when needed.

Academic Training

• Completion of Certified Medical Assistant Program – preferred
• Phlebotomy Program – CPT-1 License - required

Position Requirements/Experience

• 6+ months experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice
• Prior experience in women’s healthcare – preferred
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel – required
• EMR experience - preferred
