Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; two years of college preferred.
• Minimum of one year experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
• Must hold California Phlebotomy Certification CPTI or CPTII.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture using standard procedures to obtain patient specimens.
• Label specimens and complete related paperwork.
• Process and transport specimens to appropriate lab sections.
• Assist in procurement of other clinical specimens as required.
• Maintain asepsis and patient safety throughout procedures.
• Answer phones and provide clerical support in the laboratory.
