Qualifications

• California Phlebotomy Certification (CPTI or CPTII) required or as stated.
• Minimum two years of college or equivalent in biological sciences preferred.
• Good clinical laboratory practices and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Answer and screen or transfer telephone calls and assist patients as needed.
• Draw blood from in-patients, outpatients and ER patients using venipuncture.
• Label specimens in the patient room and submit complete paperwork for testing.
• Process specimens according to established laboratory procedures to support timely results.
• Maintain accurate patient identification and documentation to ensure safety.
• Assist with clerical duties in the laboratory office and hospital communications.
