Job summary

University of Southern California Arcadia Hospital seeks a Phlebotomy Technician to perform venipuncture on patients of all ages, collect specimens, and support laboratory workflows. You will label specimens accurately and help ensure timely test processing.

Requirements include California Phlebotomy Certification CPTI or CPTII and BLS, with a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year in a clinical lab preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two years of college in biological sciences preferred
• California Phlebotomy Certification - CPTI or CPTII required (or equivalent)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum one year experience in a clinical laboratory preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture using standard procedures on patients of all ages
• Label and process specimens accurately and in a timely manner
• Assist with clerical duties and lab workflow
• Maintain aseptic technique and safety in all tasks
• Provide courteous patient and staff interaction and support quality control initiatives
