Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Lab Support Technician I (Phlebotomy) to join our laboratory team. In this role, you will serve as an essential member of the provider care team, supporting laboratory operations through specimen collection, processing, reporting, data management, and customer service.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, committed to quality patient care, and able to provide excellent service to patients, providers, and coworkers while maintaining compliance with HIPAA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of probationary period.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Previous clinical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Support & Specimen Collection: Perform safe, accurate collection of laboratory specimens.
• Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, handling, transport, and referral for testing.
• Assist with specimen processing and report management within laboratory areas.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements and policies.
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, providers, and coworkers.
