Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Lab Support Technician I (Phlebotomy) to join the laboratory team. This role supports specimen collection, processing, reporting, data management, and customer service for internal and external clients.

You will work as part of the provider care team, observing HIPAA requirements and Mercy policies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, committed to quality patient care, and capable of delivering excellent service to patients, providers, and coworkers while adhering to

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Probationary period must be completed successfully.
No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
Competency demonstrated through departmental training and checklists.

Responsibilities

Perform safe, accurate, and professional collection of laboratory specimens.
Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, handling, transport, and referral for testing.
Assist with specimen processing and report management within laboratory specialty areas.
Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and follow lab policies.
Deliver customer service consistent with Mercy Signature Service.
