Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Lab Support Technician (Phlebotomy) I to join our laboratory team on weekends in Wisconsin. The role focuses on accurate specimen collection, processing, and delivering exceptional customer service to patients and providers in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

You will perform phlebotomy with safe, professional techniques, ensure HIPAA compliance, and support data entry, reporting, and scheduling under laboratory leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within six months of hire.
• Probationary period must be completed.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens safely, accurately, and professionally through phlebotomy practices.
• Process, transport, and refer laboratory specimens according to established procedures.
• Support laboratory operations through data entry, reporting, scheduling, and administrative functions.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and laboratory policies.
• Ensure accurate and timely handling of laboratory reports and information.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and coworkers.
• Complete competency and departmental training requirements under laboratory leadership guidance.
