Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Lab Support Technician (Phlebotomy) I for weekend, part-time coverage. You will join a provider care team to ensure accurate specimen collection, processing, and timely reporting, while delivering exceptional customer service to patients and healthcare providers.

You will perform phlebotomy, handle specimen transport, and support administrative tasks, all within Mercy's mission and service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification within six months of hire.
• Successful completion of probationary period.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens safely, accurately, and professionally through phlebotomy.
• Process, transport, and refer laboratory specimens according to procedures.
• Support laboratory operations via data entry, reporting, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and lab policies.
• Ensure timely handling of laboratory reports and information.
• Provide outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and coworkers.
• Complete competency and departmental training as directed by leadership.
• Contribute to a culture of teamwork and patient-centered care.
