Mercy is seeking a Lab Support Technician (Phlebotomy) I to join our laboratory team in Springfield, MO. This weekend, part-time role focuses on accurate specimen collection, processing, and delivering excellent patient service.

You will support physicians and patients, adhere to HIPAA and lab policies, and contribute to timely reports and data entry while upholding Mercy's service standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within six months of hire.
• Successful completion of probationary period.
• No active disciplinary actions or performance improvement plans.
• Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Collect laboratory specimens safely, accurately, and professionally through phlebotomy practices.
• Process, transport, and refer laboratory specimens according to established procedures.
• Support laboratory operations through data entry, reporting, scheduling, and administrative functions.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and laboratory policies.
• Ensure accurate and timely handling of laboratory reports and information.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to patients, providers, and coworkers.
• Complete competency and departmental training requirements under laboratory leadership guidance.
