Southeast Health is seeking a phlebotomist to perform venipuncture, fingerstick, and related duties in the hospital and outpatient settings. The role includes patient identification, specimen labeling, STAT prioritization, and timely transport to the laboratory for testing.

Responsibilities extend to training under supervision, assisting in the outpatient lab, and maintaining equipment cleanliness and safety procedures. Night shift is included.

Formación

• Equivalent of four years of high school education preferred.
• One year of full time experience preferred.
• Certification eligible with a National Phlebotomy Association preferred.
• Proficient in LIS Accessioning and Reference Laboratory Send-outs.

Responsabilidades

• Performs phlebotomy (venipuncture, fingerstick, heelstick, and bleeding time) according to established procedure.
• Identifies patients and properly labels specimen tubes.
• Determines priority of STAT draws and ensures timely transport of specimens to lab for testing.
• Utilizes computers as appropriate in completing assigned functions.
• Organizes assigned work and completes workload statistics.
