Job summary

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomy Specialist for night shifts to collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary methods in a high‑volume setting. You will verify patient information, register patients, and ensure accurate sample handling in a fast-paced laboratory.

Responsibilities include processing specimens, entering test orders in LIS, and providing courteous service to parents and patients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years related phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary method.
• Process specimens, verify patient information, and register patients in the scheduling system.
• Greet patients/parents with courteous, consumer‑oriented service and answer questions.
• Enter tests and results in LIS; manage order requests and results.
• Maintain daily records of equipment and assist with training of others.
