Job summary

The Clinical Lab Assistant Phlebotomist at TriCore is able to work independently with minimal supervision and perform multiple modalities. Compensation depends on modalities performed, and apprenticeship options may be available for candidates without experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ASCP PBT certification preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.
• Immunization/testing requirements and background screening may apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory necessary to perform department functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Exhibit basic problem solving skills to ensure patient care quality.
• Responsible for hospital communications and on-call duties by location.
• Demonstrates effective telephone and verbal communication skills.
• Exercise professional judgment when dealing with clients and co-workers.
• Perform clerical functions including documenting critical communications.
• Maintain confidentiality of information.
• Participate in on-call coverage to meet service levels.
• Support coverage for holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Demonstrate basic PC skills.
