Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in Albuquerque is seeking a Clinical Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist who can work independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple modalities. Compensation depends on the number of modalities performed, with paid apprenticeship possible for entrants.

Regular attendance during scheduled hours is essential. The role requires a HS diploma, ASCP or equivalent certification preferred, and immunization and driver’s license requirements.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• ASCP certification or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a Clinical Lab Assistant or similar program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and related duties within modalities.
• Maintains supplies and inventory for department.
• Observe and assist students and staff as needed.
• Provide professional telephone and verbal communication with clients/patients.
• Maintain confidentiality and proper documentation of communications.
• Participate in on-call coverage and holidays/weekends as required.
• Perform basic clerical tasks and data entry when needed.
