Job summary

TriCore is New Mexico’s largest laboratory, employing over 1,400 people across a broad range of roles. The Clinical Lab Assistant Phlebotomist will work independently with minimal supervision, perform multiple modalities, and may be eligible for a paid apprenticeship if experienced.

Regular attendance during scheduled hours is essential. The role offers comprehensive benefits, 401(k) with employer matching, PTO, nine paid holidays, and a Monday–Friday schedule with potential for on-call duties.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• ASCP/PBT or equivalent preferred.
• Completion of a relevant Clinical Lab Assistant or comparable program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintain supplies and inventory for departmental functions.
• Observe students and/or new staff as needed.
• Demonstrate professional judgment in client, patient and co-worker interactions.
• Handle hospital communications and on-call responsibilities by location.
• Perform basic clerical tasks and document critical communications.
• Assist in competency assessments and training of modalities.
• Support department clerical or client management functions.
